Let’s talk today about vaginas, boundaries and the concept of ‘what is enough?
What are your vaginal barriers to entry?
We’ve sucked at saying NO for a long time, because why?
Part of it’s loneliness, part of is we feel like we’re not enough aka people pleasing, and part of it is because saying NO we’ve been seemingly brainwashed to believe is selfish. IMHO it's only when you do it with permanent bitch face.
“NO”
Ok serious hat on. Let’s talk VAGINAS first.
AND BABY BOTTOMS.
Because both are very sacred, soft areas of our body intended to be loved on and cared for. Yet without knowing, and blindly trusting, we apply harmful chemicals to these parts, destroying their delicate dermis community and microbiome. If you've never heard the word ‘microbiome' it's essentially the community of immune system fighters that coexist with us (I mean they ARE us, or rather we are THEM). We are 90%+ bug, which sounds crazy, right?
What is a Microbiome?
If you're curious, I did a big interview with a Microbiome Genius HERE. I get it that the topic doesn't sound as appealing as ‘fat burners', ‘belly de bloaters', ‘cellulite reducers' or ‘anti aging for skin' but hear me out. This is a topic that could resolve and dramatically support ALL of those issues.
The short answer is that, our bodies are vessels comprised of a microbial universe. Which essentially means we're made up of 10 trillion human cells (yep less than 10%), 100 trillion bacteria, yeasts, and single cell protozoa (representing thousands of different species), and 1,000 trillion viruses in and on our bodies.
The live EVERYWHERE within our body, but the most popular 2 topics are in the colon/large intestine and the Skin Microbiome.
What does the Microbiome have to do with Skin health?
Because the skin itself has an entire universe of it's own bug species, known as the Skin Microbiome. It houses bacteria, yeasts, and parasites that live on your skin, in your nose, trachea, and gut from your mouth to your sexy bum. The ratios and diversity of these bugs determines how and where you store fat, gain muscle, rebuild skin tissues, recover from exercise and injuries, auto-immune disease, blood pressure, sex drive, hormone balance, mental health, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.
While this is new'er research than other heavily researched topics, scientists now consider the microbiome perhaps the most important organ that determines how effective our body operates and interfaces with the world.
The skin is under constant assault from toxins which is what environmental agents, harsh cleansers and soaps, deodorants, most medications, OTC's and cosmetics are mostly comprised of. Our obsession for convenience and cleanliness, is harming more than helping, our unique, delicate microbiota balance on the skin. I am still surprised to hear how many people don't realize that what you apply to your skin becomes a part of you just as any bite of food you take. Your skin eats too, then it becomes a burden to our organs of elimination, to cleanse out the pore congesting, liver clogging, energy draining, hormone robbing carcinogenic, heavy metal containing, xeno-estrogen like chemicals we apply to it. What if it were your beauty and skin care routine that was what was road-blocking you from your dream body and dream life?
I've worked with thousands of clients and this is the most underaddressed topic most don't consider could have such a drastic impact on health.
You could eat the PERFECT diet, and have the PERFECT exercise/yoga/rest routine, but if you're slathering toxins like talc to your body, your odds of disease, fat, fatigue and frustration, are still very high.
BOTTOM LINE: if we love on our microbiome and treat it well, it can keep us energetic, happy, free from pain and lessen the signs of aging. But when our metabolism fueled by our microbiome isn't running smoothly, excess free radicals are made which increases inflammation, off kiltering our body chemistry, resulting in fat, fatigue, frustration and in extreme yet increasingly common cases, cancer. 2 ways to love on our microbiome is to:
- feed our body probiotics (THIS is the Brand I use) then consume food for these bugs with prebiotics such as leafy greens and fermented foods, which we step by step teach in my 4 week online program, The Warrior Cleanse
- stop consuming and applying things to the skin and body that destroy the good guys within it.
Hence the CRUCIAL topic of todays article.
For Today’s “FRIYAY Ask Di”, I decided to address the following question:
‘Ask Diane' QUESTION of the Week
Diane did you see this? The huge lawsuit Johnson & Johnson was slapped with on Baby powder use contributing to ovarian cancer?
STATISTICS AND LAWSUITS
A jury in California recently ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $417 million to a woman who says she developed terminal ovarian cancer as a result of using the company's baby powder. And in February 2016, a Missouri court ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $72 million in damages to the family of Jackie Fox, a woman who died of ovarian cancer.
Both lawsuits said the cancer was linked to their long-time habit of applying baby powder. Two other Missouri court cases against Johnson & Johnson went in favor of the women who sued, leaving the company on the hook for $197 million. And more than 2,500 lawsuits are pending in the state.
Nearly 1 BILLION dollars paid out to women who have suffered serious illness just for using something many of us have not been properly informed that come with serious health consequences.
My goal of this video below is to give you the FULL DISCLOSURE you haven’t received and talk about the hero woman of this story who died in the process of getting the truth out.
3 KEY TALKING POINTS:
- Let’s distinguish between: What’s proclaimed vs not disclaimed…
- When will these lawsuits be enough for us to listen?
- What to use instead that’s safer and perhaps more effective
The same people who have repeatedly sold us on needing to complete ourselves with Hydrocodone purses, perfumes, prescriptions, people and products that poison us more than beautify us … because YOU’RE NOT ENOUGH …
Are the same people who are echoing the same in studies ‘THE RESEARCH IS NOT ENOUGH TO PROVE THAT TALC IS TOXIC ENOUGH TO CAUSE OVARIAN CANCER’
Who are these people? The 1% in charge of virtually every message we hear from the skewed media and news, and so called beauty and health products.
TALC – So what’s the problem it?
#1 LET'S DISTINGUISH – PROCLAIMED VS DISCLAIMED
WHAT’S PROCLAIMED:
AKA WHAT WE’RE TOLD:
Talcum powder is made from talc, a mineral made up mainly of the elements magnesium, silicon, and oxygen. As a powder, it absorbs moisture well and helps cut down on friction, making it useful for keeping skin dry and helping to prevent rashes.
WHERE IT’S FOUND:
Its Uses: A bulking, and absorbent mineral, talc can be found in powdered cosmetics, deodorants, and more.
WHAT’S NOT DISCLAIMED:
AKA The DARK Truth About Talc:
Talc is a powdered native, hydrous magnesium silicate sometimes containing a small portion of aluminum silicate. Talc can be contaminated with asbestos fibers, posing risks for respiratory toxicity and cancer. Studies by the National Toxicology Panel demonstrated that cosmetic-grade talc free of asbestos is a form of magnesium silicate that also can be toxic and carcinogenic.
IS IT BANNED IN OTHER COUNTRIES?
- Candada = yep, super restricted
- EU ban on it? YEP
Why It's Banned: In its natural state, talc can sometimes contain asbestos, and even asbestos-free talc has been under scrutiny for being possibly carcinogenic. While there has been stringent quality control in the U.S., the ingredient is still banned in the EU.
SO WHY ARE THESE THINGS NOT BANNED IN AMERICA?
One word: Greed
We’re the lab rats
According to the EWG on THIS SITE, 23,653 studies in PubMed science library may include information on the toxicity of this chemical, and the first study conducted on talc powder use on female genitalia found a 92 percent increased risk for ovarian cancer with women who reported genital talc use.
Yet…DENIAL..Even after paying nearly half a billion dollars to lawsuits that Johnson & Johnson baby powder had a direct link to these womens’ cancers, they deny the toxicity of their product and continue to stand behind it:
“Several decades of medical research do not support the hypothesis that use of talcum powder causes ovarian cancer,” said Dr. Hal Lawrence, chief executive officer of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
#2 – WHEN WILL THESE LAWSUITS BE ENOUGH FOR US TO LISTEN?
THE SCARY TRUTH:
Johnson & Johnson knew about the risk since the early 1980s and did not protect its customers.
My question to you is…when will it be enough?
How many babies bottoms need to suffer? How many kids ‘dying too young' of cancer need we witness?
How many lawsuits, how many women have to suffer, die, kids lose their moms, moms support their young daughters to infertility, before WE wake up and learn from their suffering?
Ms. Echeverria, who was too sick to testify in court started using Johnson’s Baby Powder when she was 11 and continued after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007, unaware that some studies had linked talc to cancer, said her lawyer, Mark Robinson. She stopped using it after hearing news reports of a verdict in another lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson, he said, and now wanted to warn other women.
“She told me, ‘I’m not doing this for myself,’” Mr. Robinson said. “She knows she’s going to die. She’s doing this for other women. She wants to do something good before she leaves.”
#3 – 3 HEALTHY AND BEAUTY-FYING ALTERNATIVES
- BAKING SODA (aluminum free)
- Arrowroot (Paleo baking soda) – comes from plants
- Diatomaceous earth – comes from fossilized diatoms aka algae that is ancient AF.
Baking Soda?
Sodium Bicarbonate. Get without aluminum so your Heavy Metal levels don't look like this:
It’s good to offset acidity and the things that cause it.
You can add it to coffee so it’s not AS acidic to your body, which strips minerals from your bones, connective tissue and muscles. Check out my article on Why Coffee causes hormone imbalance in women as well as Alternative recipes.
What is Arrowroot?
Arrowroot is derived from several tropical South American plants. Tapioca starch is derived from the crushed-up pulp of the South American cassava plant, a woody shrub. I bought it long ago, to use in my vegan and paleo recipes as alternatives to flour and cornstarch that otherwise are GMO or filled with heavy metals like you saw in my report.
What is Diatomaceous Earth?
Diatoms are hard-shelled algae that come from bodies of water and has a high silica content which makes it good for hair and skin use. It’s been called a miracle dust. WHY?
BENEFITS OF DIATOMACEOUS EARTH:
- Better digestive health
- Healthier colon
- Better food absorption
- Clearer skin
- Healthier hair and nails
- More energy
- Lower Candida levels
- Kills parasites and worms in the body (and dogs)
Listen to the video above on my story on how it helped me with my Parasite overgrowth:
This miracle powder also hooks up your Armpits to decrease odor. You can also use it in hair to ditch dandruff & also feet for Toenail Fungus.
TOE TIP: If you have problems with fungus in your feet, try sprinkling some DE in your socks on a daily basis. This should dry up the socks as the DE absorbs the moisture, removing any means of water for the fungus.
If you are going to buy it, make sure it’s FOOD GRADE diatomaceous earth. I got this whole thing for $20 on Amazon.
